Abstract

he musical 'Can You Help Me?' Winne S.'s work tells about the influence of social media among young people. where social media has become a staple that answers their needs for communication, entertainment and business. However, the massive use of social media has shown a negative impact on young people's interest in preserving and developing their traditional arts. This topic is applied in drama stories that flow with the strains of beautiful songs. The purpose of this study is to show the character and style of these songs and how to perform them. This research uses the Hans-Georg Gadamer hermeneutic method. The data source used is the Musical Drama Thesis 'Can You Help Me?' and Musical Drama performance video 'Can You Help Me?'. Data collection techniques are by observation and interviews. The results of this study indicate that the songs in the Musical Drama 'Can You Help Me?' has a new meaning after being interpreted according to the current situation.
